Description
Wood fired pedestal bowls fired standing on sea shells stacked inside the wood kiln. The clay reacts with the flame to create the orange flashing pattern on the inside. As the flame passes over the surface and between the bowls then it leaves distinct traces of the atmosphere in the kiln. This creates totally unique pieces, each kissed differently by the kiln gods. The underside of the bowl, which was facing up in the kiln, has collected ash that melts and creates a glaze like surface along with further interesting textures.
The clay is one that I have purchased and originates from Germany. There is no glaze, except for the ash from the wood used to fire the bowls. They are food safe but it is recommended to hand wash.
If there is a specific bowl you like and would want then write a comment and I will do my best to fulfill your wishes.
