Description
Some of the first vases I ever threw were in this form. I guess it felt like time again and so I have made a larger and better thrown version. The sides are thin and carved even thinner. The glaze has pooled in the channels creating running rivulets of frozen glass. The hard angles are broken by the soft voice of the glaze and the slight meandering of the hand carving. This vase will fit into many spaces as it is can bland in or stand out depending on what surrounds it. Thrown from a blend of clays in my recycling bin. Production scraps which found a new life.
The inside is glazed white. The bottom has my stamp.
