Fermenting is fun and this jar will make sure it turns out great. Below is some simple steps to get you started using the fermentation jar.

Weight the empty jar without lid and weights. Prepare and was your vegetables and or fruits. Almost anything will work, it just depends what you are looking for. An easy place to start is small, fresh, crispy cucumbers with garlic, dill, bay leaves, coriander seeds and black pepper corns (Cucumber freshness will decide how well these pickles work out). Fill the jar with spices in the bottom and cucumbers on top leaving space to be able to get the weights in. Cover everything with water up to the base of the channel at the lip. Weight the jar once loaded and find the total weight of ingredients. Add 2% of that weight to the water. Place the weights to hold down everything below the water level. Put 5-10mm of water in the channel around the lip. Place on the lid. The water should not be too high otherwise it will bubble out. You just want to cover the notches in the bottom of the lid where the bubbles will come out. Wait 2-5 days depending on what you are fermenting. You can test it as it ferments.
