Description
A vase in the Tsubo style with small lugs inspired by an old pot I saw in a museum which was found in a shipwreck. The glaze is made from a clay i have collected and ash from a wood firing. It shows large differences in finish depending on the thickness of the glaze and is affected significantly the colour of the clay underneath. The clay is a recycled mixture of my trimmings from making other pots. The base of the pot is very tacitly pleasing and has a very smooth concave surface.
The neck of this vase has a natural wobble that came from the throwing process as I have gotten to the top. This provides a sense of life to the vessel which hopefully mirrors well the flowers or plant life that it is used to display.
The inside is glazed and is 100% water tight so will not damage furniture if standing filled with water for an extended time. It is signed on the base.
